Southern Business School offers a Study Week once per semester to our students who wish to have face-to-face contact with their lecturers. The popularity of the Study Week has increased tremendously in recent times. The study week ended yesterday, 23 April. It was an excellent learning opportunity and also great fun for students who mad new friends from all over Southern Africa. Included here are a few pictures from some of the classes being presented. On 17 February 2009 Southern Business School held a debate on serial killings and serial killers at Monash University South Africa. Speakers for the day included Dr Micki Pistorius, world renown criminal profiler and well known South African detective, Director Piet Byleveldt. The debate was attended by academics and professionals in the field. The aim of the seminar was to bring together interested parties to share their viewpoints on the topic. To the left is Dr Chris Botha opening the proceedings.

Southern Business School is a proud sponsor of the 2009 Claerhout Art Festival held from the 11 – 15 February 2009. The Art Festival which began in 2007 aims to provide sustainable growth and development for the people of Excelsior/Mahlatswetsa. The festival will benefit the community by generating opportunities for entrepreneurs, creating jobs, providing business opportunities, training aspirant young artists and producing funds to facilitate local clinics in the provision of milk and food to HIV positive children.

In the past many enterprises regarded issues of governance as incidental to financial or bottom-line performance. Governance was therefore something nice to have if there was time to be concerned about it.
