Southern Business School only offers qualifications in management and related subject disciplines, allowing us to focus on what we do best — prepare managers for the challenges of the business environment.

Our formal programmes are designed to assist students to study at their own pace in a flexible academic framework. Qualifications range from NQF level 5 to 7 and enable students to progress toward Masters and Doctoral degree studies in the field of Management.

Certificate in Management

The Certificate in Management is a 120-credit qualification registered on the NQF at level 5. Although it is a stand-alone qualification it also serves as the first year of the Diploma in Management (it could be described as an exit level for the Diploma in Management). It is aimed at providing access to higher education and at supervisory level management.

Diploma in Management

The Diploma in Management is accredited on NQF level 6 and will earn a student 360 credits on the National Qualifications Framework. In obtaining the Diploma in Management you will also obtain the Certificate in Management. The Diploma is ideal for managers and aspiring managers on all tiers and in all spheres of business.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Degree

The Bachelor of Business Administration degree is a registered and accredited qualification, leading to further studies at honours degree level. The BBA is aimed at students who will be responsible for managing people, resources, and/or projects, including the management of human resources, public relations, advertising, promotions, portfolios, etc. in the private and the public sectors.

Bachelor of Policing Practices (BPP) Degree

The Bachelor of Policing Practices (BPP) degree is a registered and accredited 394 credit qualification at NQF level 6. This qualification is aimed at learners who are pursuing management careers within the Safety in Society sub-field. It provides learners with opportunities for professional development and career advancement within the broader constituencies of the Safety in Society community that will contribute to providing a safe and secure environment for all the people in the Republic of South Africa. The qualification is applicable to members of the SAPS, traffic- and metropolitan law enforcement.

Advanced Diploma in Management

The Advanced Diploma in Management is a postgraduate programme. It is accredited on NQF level 7 and will earn you a total of 120 credits on the NQF. The Advanced Diploma has been specifically designed for managers and aspiring managers on middle– and higher levels of management
