All SBS alumni are invited to become an active member of the SBS community and to share in this lifelong learning experience!

The Alumni Association is an initiative that will allow you to enjoy a lifelong relationship with Southern Business School. All graduates and diplomandi of Southern Business School are cordially invited to join the Alumni Association. Not only will you enjoy benefits as a member of the Alumni Association but your membership will directly assist in community empowerment throughout South Africa.

A 2008 AMPS survey reported that 80% of South African adults believe that not enough is being done to provide opportunities for the poor. By joining the Alumni Association you will be making a meaningful contribution to poverty alleviation in South Africa as all funds will be paid into Southern Business School’s non-profit organisation, Iphandezomupilo educational foundation.

Iphandezomupilo educational foundation primarily aims to:

• fund and create employment opportunities for individuals through skills based training programmes;
• conduct research that will benefit various community devlopment programmes;
• provide financial assistance to previously disadvantaged students and
• provide financial support to various charities, school’s and community development programmes.

As a member of the Alumni Association you will receive the following benefits:

• Invitations to attend SBS events and graduation ceremonies;
• Option to purchase SBS branded alumni clothing;
• Subscription to the SBS New Horizons magazine;
• Access to the SBS library and SBS online forums;

• Telephonic access to a trauma counselor and a general counselor;
• Alumni members get preferential placement in SBS post graduate qualifications where a limited intake is accepted and
• Your membership fees benefit the community
